** March Round Robin Challenge at Swirlydoos**

Hello again!

I seem to be having a little flurry of blog posts in the last 48 hours!

Todays is my layout created for the Swirlydoos March Round Robin Challenge.

This is  fun monthly team challenge of 3/4 players in a team and usually 3/4 teams play every month, and the idea is to 'lift' the layout from the previous person on your team.

I am on Team 1 and doing Week 2 following teammate Sherri.

So the theme this month was 'Going Green'. We had to use the colour green in our layout somewhere, use green foliage and 'be green' by using a recycled something on your layout and to use a an outdoor photo.

And here it is .....

Here are some close ups.

I did a lot of fussy cutting from these A Ladies Diary papers and then layered them up with foam pads to create that 3d effect backed with the cheesecloth. The Wycinanka title was painted with gesso.

My recycled items were the sparkly strand material that was decorating an Bath Fizz Ball at Christmas! This changes light in different lights and has a green look to it. My other recycled piece was the rose flower cluster with bow that came of a card I received a long time ago!

I followed the flow of these lines from Sherri's layout (she used a leaf garland) and made my pearl heart with Nuvo Crystal drops.

Sherri had used paper weaving on her layout so I did mine slightly differently by using chequers from the Ladies Diary papers creating a similar look to keep the theme going. All my edges were distressed with my trusty Prima distress tool.

Some of the fussy cutting was quite intricate but well worth the effort.

Product used on this layout

* Delicate Details x2
* A moment in time
* Timeless Memoir
* Picture Perfect

Nuvo Crystal Drops: white
Wycinanka: Remember

*** March Card Challenge at Swirlydoos***

Hi all,

Today I'm sharing a card with you!
I created this for Bec's March Card Challenge at Swirlydoos Kit Club.

The theme for this month card challenge was - Die Cutting.

So here it is:

Here are close ups of details.

I used a Creative Expressions Die called 'Fern Trio' for the leaves,
and a Spellbinders die ' Elegant Labels 4' for the intricate background  - cut twice in two different colours and using one section from each cut to get the two tone colour effect. This was backed with a pattered paper from Prima Princess collection on a card made to approx.5x7" from the Centura card.

My flowers  and brads are all from previous Swirlydoos Kits.

I love this 'Happy Birthday' script stamp, it gives a great effect used as a background stamp.
I stamped this over the pink card (middle part of the Spellbinders die) which I had dry brushed over with gesso to give a soft shabby look to the pink.

***CSI - Color, Stories, Inspiration, case File #226***

Hi everyone!

Case File #226 is open for investigation!

And here it is!

Here is how I solved the case:

All 5 colours were used

The evidence used from the case was:

*  Clouds
* String
* Bunting/ banners
* Plants
* Sailboat

The Testimony used from the case was:

* Write about what makes you happy

There are many things that make me happy, but walking my dog/s is one of them. This case file gave me the opportunity to remember past dogs in my life and the antics we used to get up to. These three used to love water and going for a swim, and then they would get out of the water, rush up to you and then shake all over you, getting you soaked!
In the photo they have gone down the sandy banks of a local large river and I'm looking down on them. I am trying to give that feeling of being on the leafy bank looking down on them in the layout through all the foliage.

Here are some close ups and details

I have tried to use the foliage dies arranged to mimic looking down over the leafy bank, with the picket fence running along the bank.

The river bank itself is very sandy, so I used the Flower Soft sand to create the sand - I love this stuff, it I so realistic! Mixed in with some real shells it looks great!

I used the bunting already on the PP and added my letter tiles onto some of the bunting flags.
The clouds I inked the edges with the Attic Dust ink pad. The background was splattered with a couple of colours from the Prima Metallic set.

The ivy leaves I used a Distress Crayon Peeled Paint to make the veins and blended a little with water.

Products used on this layout

Blue fern Studio: Seaside Cottage: Gala
Liquid Pearls: Petal Pink
Prima Chalk Ink Pad: Attic Dust
Flower Soft: Ultra Fine Sand
The Works: M & C Boutique Wooden Letters
Tattered Lace Dies:  Foliage
Joanna Sheen: Die: Ivy Flourish
Prima Finnabair: Texture Paste Crackle White
Prima Marketing Stencil:
Shells from the beach
Cord: Beige
Prima Marketing: Metallic Accents
Tim Holtz: Distress Crayon: Peeled Paint
Anna Marie Designs: Natural Fibres
Selection of other dies: Boats
                                              : Picket fence
                                      : Clouds
                                    : Birds

Don't forget to pop over to the CSi blog to see what the other talented DT members did with this case file and check out the rules so you to can have a go!

Sketch Challenge at **Swirlydoos***

Hi ladies,

Today I'm sharing my layout created for the Swirlydoos Kit Club February Sketch challenge.

Here is my layout:

Here is the sketch designed by Kim!

Image may contain: flower

Here are some close ups of my layout.

The Prima Color Bloom spray was used on the background, spritzed and plodged!

All my edges including the doily were inked with the Walnut Stain Distress ink.
The stamping was done in the Archival ink.

The Wycinanka pieces were embossed with the BFS embossing powder Mushroom.

The leaves were cut in the same pp as was used for the photo mount and inked with the distress ink.

My edges were all distressed before inking.

I loved the effect tis stamp gave to the background of the layout.

The School Memories flowers were layered up with some layers from the Alpha flowers to create a more dimensional flower. I then used some of the Alpha paper flowers folded in half and slotted into my paper layers. I also inked the edges of these too.
