DT layout Case File 204

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing my design team layout for CSI - color, stories, inspiration Case File 204.

Here is the case file

I used all 5 colours from the scheme.

My evidence used was;
* hearts
* wings/feathers
* flowers
* polka dots/stripes

My Testimony  used was:
* Document something you love a lot
* Inspirational word: heart

I loved the colour palette in this case file, gorgeous girlie colours, perfect for my little girl!
This is a birthday photo of her from a couple of years ago but the layout is about what she means to me and how she always makes me feel better, she is my angel!

I didn't do any distressing on this layout - unusual for me! I wanted to keep it clean & fresh.

I used a Simple Stories paper collection, So Fancy.
I loved all the feathers in this paper collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting and used the sticker sheet.

Some elements were lifted up with cardboard or foam pads.

These papers are lovely and have there own layering already incorporated to the design.

The journaling is most important. Get it on your page! CSI is all about the journaling, we love to know the stories behind the photos! But also more importantly for you to remember those stories  too!

I used the beautiful Scrapberry's Cherry blossoms, perfect for this layout!

Don't forget to layer up your sticker and fussy cutting to make an attractive cluster to catch the eye!

Products used on this layout:

Paper:  Simple Stories - So Fancy - Pink watercolour/ triangles
Simple Stories - So Fancy - Fancy

Other: Simple Stories - So Fancy - Enamel Dots
Simple Stories - So Fancy - Fundamental Cardstock Stickers
Simple Stories - So Fancy - Bits & Pieces
Scrapberry's - Cherry Blossoms - Bright Pink
Paper roses & zipper - The Craftz Boutique
Heidi Swapp - Journal Stickers
Prima Chalk Ink pad - Blossom Bud
 "          - Petal Pink
Blue Flowers from my own stash.

Hope you liked this layout.

Please visit the csi blog and join in with us with our case files. We have 3 case files a month, reveal days are the first two Friday's and the 4th Friday of the each month.

This case file closes on July 8th, so you've plenty of time to come up with a layout.

Swirlydoos sketch with Kaisercraft Always & Forever

Hello All,

Today I am sharing my entry for Swirlydoos kit club Sketch challenge for May. This layout was made using items from the Swirlydoos May 'Peach Blossom' main kit, Flower Add on and the Embellishment Add on kits.

Here is the lovely sketch I followed by BeggaHuna.

I loved the rustic feel to this kit and loved this wood effect paper 'Romance' that I used for this layout.
I used the 'Eternal' paper to fussy cut all the flowers from and the 'Devotion' paper to cut the lace border out. The floral paper used to cut the circle out from was 'Admire'.

I got my sewing machine out and stitched around the outside of my background paper and around the floral circle. I love the look stitching gives to a layout, I normally do faux stitching but this time decided to do the feel thing!

One of my favourite things from the kit and add on's this month was the chicken wire, I put three little pieces of it in my cluster. I like it because it adds extra detail, depth and change of texture but you can also see through it to the layers underneath.

I dry distressed and inked all my edges heavily with distress Ink Walnut Stain, to keep the wood tone going through the layout.

I used a piece of the cardboard box packaging that my kit gets posted in, peeled the top layer off to reveal the corrugated section underneath and inked it up with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. I then layered it under my photo.

The metal key I altered by using 'Platinum' Wow embossing powder with some Antique Gold Stampendous embossing enamel mixed in with it. Then added some bronze gilding wax and some Coal Prima Color Bloom mist.

My die cut leaves are cut using a Cherry Lynn die 'pair of ferns' from the April kit, cut out of the reverse side of the 'Admire' paper.

The flowers used in this layout were a mixture of Kaisercraft paper roses, Prima sprays and a burlap flowered string.

Catching up.....

Good evening,

So here is a quick post this evening, having got in from my Son's cricket training tonight and had a bit of dinner. I'm a bit behind with this kit but here is a layout I have created from some of these very pretty BoBunny Soiree papers from the My Creative Scrapbook May kit.

These are such pretty papers and mixed with the Prima flowers, BoBunny chipboard stickers, paper rose buds and the Prima Shabby Chic Treasures, I was really pleased with the finished result!

I started this layout by cutting a circle out of my main background paper. I then distressed and tore the rim of the circle left in the paper. I attached a 2nd complimenting paper behind the circle hole and ran some lace in between the two layers

I arranged my flower clusters and then added a little texture paste swirls to compliment these clusters using the Prima stencil in the kit.

I used some stickers off the Soiree sticker sheet to layer with the Prima flowers, some lifted up on cardboard. I also cut the swirl strip up into small swirls and stuck them down so they were angled and not flat to add dimension.

I added some tiny alphas to a chipboard sticker to personalise. I loved this Prima Shabby Chic Treasure too, I left this completely untouched.

I dabbed the lace with some Vintage Photo distress Ink to make it a little more 'vintage' and distressed looking.

I finished the layout off by dabbing over the flowers and stickers with some gesso on a sponge applicator to soften and shabby it up!

And of course the gorgeous subject of my layout is my daughter, one of my favourite photos of her this year so far.

Products used were from My Creative Scrapbook May Kit.

Other products not in the kit were:
Finnabair Crackle white texture paste
Gesso
Black Pen
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Kaisercraft Tiny Alphas

Pop back soon,

Vintage Emporium Mini Album

Hey!

Happy Sunday to you all!

Today I am sharing my Prima Memory Hardware Magnetic Mini Album, that was a Technique kit Add on with the Swirlydoos March Peggy's Bicycle kit.  The kit featured the Prima collection Vintage Emporium.

The papers I used on the outside covers of this magnetic closing album, from a 6x6" pad of the Vintage Emporium, were matted with black cardstock.
I extended the opening flap by adding a Prima journal card, again matted on thick black cardstock, on top of the top opening flap but hung over the flap underneath. I thought  this added a slightly different feature to the album front.
I used a Blue Fern Studio chipboard piece called Royal Gate, embossed with a antique gold embossing powder, on the lower opening flap.
The cover was then decorated with Vintage Emporium flowers and bits and pieces from the Ephemera pack including the metal pieces.
I also added a couple of Brads from 'The Archivist' collection and a Prima wood icon 'together' piece.

This photo shows the other side of the extending flap and how the BFS chipboard gate fits nicely onto the lower flap.

The first inside page has a lot of room and allows for some bigger embellishments. I used more Prima flowers and a bottle from the Ephemera kit along with another wood icon piece.
I took these photos outside, I even managed to get a pesty fly on my album page!

I used a Martha Stewart punch 'photo corners' to make all the photo corners for the album from black cardstock. And then added co-ordinated paper mats in the photo area for the time being until some photos go in as I thought this looked better then blank spaces.

For all the other pages I added another photo spot on one side and then on the facing side I used Prima Journal cards, attached to the page on two sides, as pockets and then used more journal cards as mats for more photos slipped into the pocket.

I decorated each page with Prima wood icons and the stickers that were in the back of the 6x6 paper pad.

This centre page I added more ephemera.

I even used the packaging from a couple of the flower packets as mats for the photo spots!

The back page I added some flowers and more ephemera to finish the album off. You just have to be careful how much big embellishments you put in the album that it will still shut easily.

The edges of everything including the album were inked with Distress ink Vintage Photo.
