Tag album

Good evening!

Do you remember my Prima Tales of Me & You Tag box I showed you a couple of weeks ago here on the blog? I did promise you I would make some tags to go in it, and so I did!

Here is the Tag box to remind you.

I have made a simply constructed tag album just using a ring to keep them together.
These tags are made with the Prima Tales of Me & You paper collection matted on to a thick black card to match the box. Each tag either has a small pocket with a photo mat card in it or an area to journal.
I have used flowers on the front...... I couldn't help myself.... but the rest of the album I have kept flat for better storage and to make sure it fitted in the tag box. The embellishments used are the Prima Tales of Me & You Chipboard pieces, which have some very pretty little elements to add a lovely touch to any project.

So here is the front view but opened up to the left.

This is the view from the back of the album.

So here  some photos of each of the sides of the tags.

I have punched the edge of this pocket. My edges are inked with Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

The photo mats are all plain black cardstock on the back to put photos. These could be turned around so you can see your photo instead of the Prima Papers.

Some of the photo mats are behind fussy cut corners, so they just slot in like the one above.
I love the little teacup chipboard element, but then I love Tea!!

These post card elements make great journaling spaces.

I tried to vary how to hold my photo mats. Here I have used a slanted 'belly band' to slot my photo mat in.
You can see some of the Prima Chipboard in this photo too.

The reverse side of the photo mats waiting for some photos!
And one of the triangle pockets.

My flower cluster on the front with some of the Prima Chipboard.

I hope you liked the end result. It all fits perfectly in the Tag box to be treasured. It looks lovely sat on my shelf!

Thank you for taking the time to visit,

Altered Fan

Hello all,

It's been a few days since I last posted, it has been a very busy month with work and children's activities !
But I think I have a lovely project to share with you today. This fan came in our Swirlydoos kit club 'Peggy's Bicycle' kit. It was just a light wood fan all ready for some altering !

So after having so much fun doing what I love best.....adding flowers.... here it is.

I gave the fan a mixed media background, starting with a coat of white gesso.
I then added a layer of Shimmerz Dazzlers 'Spun Sugar' over the top but left the area where I was going to fit the zip so that the area inside the open zip had a little subtle contrast of colour. The Shimmerz colour is very subtle and gives a sheen to the project too, a little difficult to capture in a photo.
When this was dry I used a green and raspberry coloured mists with water to create my wash background.
I used lots of flowers..... :) ....... lots of Prima flowers from the kit, one of them being the Prima vine I had saved especially for this project, its beautiful. I then added a playing card and butterfly covered in  Crackle Accents from the Prima Ephemera. My title was cut out of one of the Bobunny papers from the kit and again covered with the Crackle Accents. The mauve lace ribbon I cut and folded up and added little bits here and there. The bottle I filled with beads, these are the same beads I used inside the zip area. Scattered over the whole piece are the gold Micro beads.

Here are some close up's of all these lovely flowers.

Here are the main ingredients for those who would like to know what I've used from the kit and my stash.

Outdoors Fun

Hello to you all,

It's been a couple of days since I last posted but I have been creating. I am currently working on a tag album to go in my Prima Tales of Me & You Tag Box that I showed you a couple of posts ago. If you missed that one here is the link to see it  Tag Box  Keep an eye out for the tag album to appear on a future post.

So today I am showing you a layout but not an ordinary layout for me - it has no flowers.... 'shock' 'horror'.....   anyway its using the BoBunny papers that were also in the Swirlydoos Peggy's Bicycle kit March kit. I do have a habit of nearly always doing 'girly' layouts with my Swirlydoos kit because the papers are always so pretty but occasionally there's a paper in the kit that calls out to be made into a masculine page and this was one of those ! I adored the little owl on the page and found another one on another page to fussy cut so I could have two adorable little owls on my page....I like Owls !
So this page is all about being outside, which my children are a lot and I scrapped a page of my son, from a couple of years ago, playing with his bow and arrow ( foam arrows) that he got for his birthday. He was in some imaginary game fighting off some demon !

The background paper is BoBunny Beautiful Dreamer 'Day Dream'.

The main piece of paper that mats my photo is another of the BoBunny papers 'Mirage'. This paper is made up of lots of torn strips of paper, it makes it look like you've spent ages tearing up paper and putting it together ! What a cheat ! :)

These wonderful huge chipboard letters by Darice were in the kit. I coloured mine with a ProMarker Pen 'Apple'. I went over them a couple of times to get a good strength of colour and then ran around the edge with a ProMarker Black pen.

There is a lot of fussy cutting in this layout. In fact all the embellishments are fussy cut elements out of the BoBunny paper 'Bicycle'.

The 'Dream Big' and 'Come fly with Me' have had the edges inked with Distress Ink 'Old Paper'.
The other fussy cut elements I edged with ProMarker Black Pen.

The alphas were from my stash and are by Basic Grey.

Isn't this little Owl so cute ! I popped him up on some foam tape to make him stand off the page a little, likewise I did this to the balloons too and a couple of the words.

I would love to know what you think to this layout, leave me a comment and I'll read them when I come back !

Round Robin

Hey all !

Today I'm sharing my entry for our Round Robin challenge over at Swirlydoos kit club.  I am on Team 4 and doing Week 3. This is a fun monthly challenge joining all us ladies from around the globe into sharing our scrapbook pages and doing a 'lift' of the person's  layout before us. We normally have 4 members on a team so we each have a week to do our layout before 'deadline Monday'. Each month there is a theme and then there are 'twists' to follow as well.

This month was all about 'Spring ' -  and altering something on our layouts, anything from the photo or an embellishment, anything ! Twists, pastel colours, overload of flowers, Swirlydoos products, using chippie, metals, bling.
So here it is...

This month on my team were Andie and Barbara and they created two amazing layouts for me to follow. Follow this link to go see http://www.swirlydoos.com/forums/topic/april-2016-round-robin-sign-ups/  the layouts they created and the other teams work too.

Everything on this page except the metal buttons, one flower and the background cardstock, is from previous Swirlydoos kits. I used  a Prima Royal Menagerie for my top paper and a Prima Debuante paper for my middle layer. All the papers heavily distressed and randomly punched.
I used some texture paste through a Prima mask on my background and blended a pink and red Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastels with a water pen around my photo and flower cluster. We had these Oil Pastels in a previous Swirlydoos kit too.
The main thing that has followed through our 'lifts' on Team 4 is that Andie started off by fussy cutting her photo, a feature that Barbara and myself have followed. This took some doing I can tell you, chopping up my precious photo but I have to say I love the end result and Holly looks like she is sitting amongst those flowers !
My chipboard I altered with Stampendous Frantage Aged Rose embossing enamel.
My metal button I washed with the red Oil Pastel to give it a slightly different look.
I copied the bottle and fussy cut clock and 'timeless' word from Barbara's layout.

So here are the all important close up's.....

I really love this layout, I hope you do too !

CSI Design Team

Hello everyone !

I am so excited to announce that I am joining the CSI - Color Stories Inspiration Design Team from May !  I can't wait to get start creating some hopefully inspirational scrapbook layouts for all the CSI enthusiasts out there !
CSI is a fun scrapbooking challenge site that inspires you to use different colour combinations and to 'tell your story' with journaling about your photos. Each 'case file' provides you with a colour scheme of 5 colours to use. You get a  'testimony' section where you get to choose from a list of prompts to inspire your journaling about a photo/memory  and the story that goes with it. The 3rd part is the 'Evidence' where you get a list of items/embellishments or media, that you can use on your layout, using at least 3 from the list on your page.
We have a new Case File every first, second and fourth Friday of the month. Once a month there is also a sketch added to the case file too for interpretation !
Please come and see what we do at the CSI  Forums and come and join in with the fun !
So come back and see my first 'Case File' reveal layout with the all the other amazing CSI  designers in the first week of May. I Can't wait !

More Tales of Me & You

Evening everyone,

I have been busy doing another layout with my Swirlydoos March Peggy's Bike kit with Prima Tales of Me & You. This layout is for Ang's 'All that Flutters' challenge over on the Swirlydoos forum. My 'fluttering' feature are the little row of birds and a butterfly chipboard pieces nestled into the LO.

I have been going through some old photos on my laptop and found some gorgeous photos of Holly as a baby that I haven't scrapped yet and this is one of them, enjoying a swing in a local park.

This LO has no mixed media and apart from one torn paper, no distressing, most unusual for me ! I have inked my edges with Walnut Stain distress ink but apart from that I've kept it quite simple.

From the background paper I cut the frame out and removed the middle of the paper. I then raised it up with a rim of cardboard and mounted it on top of my other chosen background paper.

All embellishments are from the Swirlydoos kit and Alpha's from a previous kit.
So here it is with a few close ups too !

Thanks for taking a peek !

Ginny  :)
