My last csi as guest designer for June

So my month as Special Deputy Guest Designer for the month of June is now over with this last case file. I have really enjoyed completing each case file and  have had loads of fun with the colour schemes and testimonies. This is case file 129..http://colorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/

From my Testimony I chose 'document a meal', so I chose a photo of the annual Ball that we go to every year with friends and work colleagues. We have a lovely time 'dressing up' in our ball dresses and enjoying a 4 course dinner and dancing afterwards to a band... my LO......

My Evidence used;
chevrons
silver metal
flowers
pom-pom trim

My Testimony;
document a meal
write in a zig-zag pattern

Here are the close up's....

Here's what I used; a selection of Prima flowers, and other flowers,  pom-pom trim from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn, silver metal embellishments from my stash.

I wrote my journaling through my stencil to get the zig-zag effect easily.

I used Fancy Pants 3x8 pattern stencil set with Versa Magic Thatched Straw chalk ink pad. These stencils are a tough cardboard stencil and the design parts push out to reveal the cut outs. I then used these pieces I pushed out on my layout in their own right. Paper used was a piece from Pink Paislee Indigo blue, a dark grey cardstock and a Crate Paper background Paper.
Thank you to csi colorstoriesinspiration for letting be a part of the guest design team this month.
Thanks for stopping by, please leave your comments :)

'Lorna Doone' csi case file 128

Hello All,
                Here I am with csi case file 128.  Lovely soft colours in this one.   http://colorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/
So here's my entry, designed around a photo of 'Lorna Doone' country, Exmoor, UK. This area is made famous by the Victorian novel 'Lorna Doone' by R.D. Blackmore set in this area in the 1680's. My photo is through the doorway of the church where Lorna Doone was shot by her half brother whilst at the alter to marry John Ridd. We had a lovely holiday in and around this beautiful piece of country.

My Evidence used;
Door/window
flowers
beads
rosettes
chalkboard
pearls
ribbon/bows
punches
fruit element

My testimony used:-
write about a door or entrance
write journaling on a chalkboard surface.

And now for some close up's....

I used masks with texture paste and acrylic blue paint and a perfect pearls mist for the background. I dropped some lavender gold Lindy's mica into the wet mist to add colour splashes to it. Also used a Martha Stewart pansy border punch, Tattered Lace rosette die, a memory box wreath die and frame die and floral spray die.

I added Prima Trinkets window, floral rose bud ribbon, MME chalkboard tags.

I strung some rainbow chip beads on a wire with a couple of trinkets. Prima lace flower and blackberries from Anna Marie Designs and a trellis Memory Box die, Creative Expression pearls and lastly DWVC card stock.

Thank you for visiting.

Swirlydoo's June Round Robin

Hello All!, I don't know where the time goes to but another week seems to have gone by already!
Today i'm sharing with you my Swirlydoo's June Round Robin page. This is a challenge over 4 consecutive weeks with teams of 4 where each team member creates a 'take' of their team member no.1's original layout. The theme was mists and sprays. I am team 3 week 3 and here's my layout...

My papers are Glitz design Hello Friend. All the embellishments are from the June Swirlydoo's kit Spring Boutique apart from the 3 flower brads and the lacy pieces in the flower cluster.

I used 2 mist/sprays, a pink Tattered Angels glimmer mist and a red Perfect pearls spray through masks and splattered over the page. I also used them on my doily and changed the colour of my lacy pieces in the flower cluster.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

csi case file 127

Hi all, I'm a little late putting this on my blog this week but here is csi case file 127 with the sketch by Emma to go with it;

A tricky one for colours this week I thought, for me anyway but we got there! Here's my take on the sketch.

Here's the low down!
Evidence used;
Check pattern ( mask and texture paste)
bottle caps
string
birds ( a die)
wood (pegs)
transportation image
a pair of something (shoe die)

My testimony;
document something from back in the day
suspend your journaling from string

I found these old photo's of my Mum and her sister playing with their toys back in the1950's - how toys have changed over the years! Here's a few close ups,

I used the rosette die from Tattered Lace, Martha Stewart clay and moulds, the bicycles die cuts came from  Kaisercraft collectables 'On this Day' and Prima badges and Jillibean soup 12x12 placemats photo frames.

I used texture paste through a That Special Touch mask, added paper under the clear middles to the bottle caps and added flourishes from Cherry Lynn dies. The journaling was done on a Spellbinders Nestability. Other bits used were my Tim Holtz paper distressser and Prima Chalk ink pad 'Old Road' and Tattered Angels glimmer mist.
Papers used were, BG paper, Bobunny double dot Chiffon and other papers were from Colorbok Homespun collection.

Thank you for stopping by as always! :)

Recycling.........

I've had a little bit of fun this weekend with this project. These toughened  cardboard rolls were in the recycling when I decided to rescue them and give them a new use in life!! And so here is my new altered pot!

I started with one of these very tough thick cardboard rolls and painted it with gesso inside and out and then the outside edges and inside with a coat of acrylic paint.

Once dry I covered with Pion Papers Alma's sewing room, three inked layers, one of which was just a strip around the middle with the corner edges rolled for detail.
After that I added the pearl trim and the lace and finally the flowers, die cut doily shape, sprigs and butterfly. A few extra pearls and some liquid pearls on the butterfly and voila!!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hi All!
Swirlydoo's monthly kit for May, Bohemian Spring, is just gorgeous! I have really enjoyed playing with this one! It has shown itself to be very versatile for both pretty pages and masculine ones, with lots of lovely embellishments to play with. The papers are Kaisercraft Kaleidoscope with a couple of Authentique solid colour background papers. We also had a 12x12 piece  of cardboard in the kit which was quite fun to mix in with the layouts! Anyway here they are, hope you like them!

Special deputy guest designer for June with csi

So here we are, June already! Where has the year gone so far? But excitement is ,here because this is the month I am a Special Deputy Guest Designer for csi color, stories, inspiration, after my layout was chosen as one of the five favourites from the csi scrap365-5 case file challenge.
My first case file this month is the Scrap365-6

From the Testimony list I based my layout on the topic- wedding and the initials of my subject to describe our subject, with a story about my daughter's bridesmaid dress and its connection to the Royal wedding the same summer -  'Our H.R.H'.

My Evidence used was; ribbon/bows: rope, jute, twine: flowers: frames: texture paste: lace: diamond shapes.
I used a Maja Design vintage autumn basics paper.
 I used Martha Stewart clay and moulds to make frames and flowers. The initials were rub on's with a layer of glossy accents over the top.

I used the texture paste to stencil with and also mixed some of the paste with paint to get the pink colour that I then masked with to get the diamond shapes.

I used Versamagic chalk ink pad Night Sky to stamp with Prima 'Paris' stamps and Distress ink Tattered Rose to stamp with Jenni Bowlin Lace stamp.

I also used Glitz Designs 'hello friend' transparency frame sticker, Prima flowers, tag and buttons.

I really loved this colour scheme, hope you like it!
