'Mum' layout Tres Jolie Kits

Hello crafty peeps!

This is my last project for this month using the August kit for Tres Jolie Kit Club

I have really enjoyed creating with this kit. The papers were lovely and I enjoyed all the fussy cutting that I was able to do with them.
This layout is kind of a double page to go with my previous layout earlier in the month which can be found on this link  http://shabbypapers.blogspot.com/2018/08/mintay-layout-for-tres-jolie-kits.html
I used the same Mintay papers but swopped the colours from pink with blue highlights on the other layout to Blue with pink highlights on this one. I also used the same torn edged border but turned it to vertical instead of horizontal. The same flowers/colours/designs were copied onto this layout and obviously a double page about my Mum as she is in both photos.
These photos were taken as we sat in the garden talking on a lovely summers day a couple of months ago.
Here it is....

I have a photo step by step process for you to follow to see how I created this layout.

I used 4 mists in total. The first three colours I splattered using the nozzle removed from the bottle and shaking the nozzle and tube over the paper and the 4th, the blue chalk mist I sprayed normally to get more coverage. I tipped the paper up vertically after spraying to get the mist to run down the paper.

After drying I applied some texture paste with a stencil.

I inked the torn edges of the feature border paper and layered the blue lace from the kit underneath one side.

I added a strip of another contrasting paper under the other side, also torn and inked.

My photo I layered on.... yes you've guessed it, a torn paper layer and inked the edges.

I chose 4 journal cards, distressed the edges and inked

And then arranged them around my photo using double sided tape.

I then cut some fussy cutting out of the 12x12 Mintay papers and inked the edges.

I backed these with a small piece of cardboard to lift them of the papers and journal cards to add some depth to the design.

These were then slotted into my photo and journal card layers.

This arrangement was then stuck onto the background papers again with some cardboard behind it to lift of the background papers.
I added a fussy cut floral piece to the top right corner of the photo again backed with cardboard.

Next came the flower cluster..... a simple one with not too many flowers.

Add two smaller blue flowers to the main structure of the feature flower and the 2 leaves.

And then fill in with the smaller flowers.

I then finished off by adding some of he very pretty dazzler gems.

Voila!

Tres Jolie Mixed Media Canvas

Hello all,

Today I'm sharing my canvas I created with the Tres Jolie Kits August Mixed Media Kit.
In the kit you get this unusual triangle shaped canvas, some fabulous mixed media products, a stencil and some Prima flowers!

Let me show you how I went about creating this canvas with the following photo tutorial.

Here is the contents of the Mixed Media Kit.

This is the wonderful range of mixed media products from 13 Arts.
The rainbow colours can be used in a variety of ways, I have used them in a couple of different ways to show you.

The first way I used the rainbow colour was by making my own coloured modelling/texture paste.
I mixed a tiny amount of the rainbow colour into the modelling paste. Start of with a tiny amount, you can always add more to strengthen the colour afterwards.

On the blank canvas I painted a layer of clear gesso to create a good surface to use mixed media.
I then mixed some of the blue rainbow colour with water on my brown craft mat, my second way of using it. I splattered the colour across the canvas and let it run over the canvas to create a washed look like in the picture below.

I let the colour run over the sides so wat ever angel you look at the canvas from you will always some.

I chose some journal cards as my feature to the canvas, and distressed the edges.

Next was the stencilling. I used the pink modelling paste I prepared earlier and using the stencil from the kit I used it over the canvas on the front and also the sizes.

I loved the effect this stencil gave...

Once dry I layed out the journal cards to work out my design.

I decided I didn't want to keep the flowers white and wanted pink ones.
The third way of using the rainbow colour is to make a mist and put it  in a bottle for easy application. Again you only need a small amount of colour powder to mix with water. A bottle is better to keep it in as you can give the product a good shake.

I spritzed over the flowers to make them a pink colour and leave to dry

I then started adding my embellishments. This string type material is from my stash but added a little detail to my embellishments. I added this underneath the flowers.

I then clustered up the Prima flowers I coloured pink, some of the leaves ( left white in colour) and a couple of resin feathers from last months kit.

I  added some of the Santorini Say it with Crystals around the canvas.

I left the texture paste stencilled verse free of embellishments around it so it could be easily read as I thought this was a nice erse to read.

Then I used the white ink by splatting it liberally over the embellishments and canvas and allowed it to 'run' in places in dribbles.

Lastly I used the blue rainbow colour again by mixing it with water on my craft mat and the painting with it.  coloured the edges of the flowers petals like in the picture below.

Mintay layout for Tres Jolie Kits August Kit

Hello all!
I'm back today with a layout created using the Mintay papers from the August main Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie Kits.
These papers are gorgeous!
Here is my layout:

I have also used the sketch again for this layout. For my layout the other day I turned the sketch around, this layout I have left in the format it was designed.

As usual my paper layers are all torn edges and they are inked too. I did the broad band across the middle with a lovely floral paper and highlighted it underneath with a piece of the blue lace.

The balloon chip board piece I have painted with gesso and then edged it with the same ink I inked the papers with.

My photo is layered up with some of the journal cards cut from the 12x12 paper. I curled some of the corners for extra detail.

I did a little fussy cutting of the pink flowers buds with the blue butterflies to add to my flower clusters.

My journaling (all be it small!) is fussy cut from the journal cards, distressed and inked.
