March CSI Layouts

Hello all !

Today I'm sharing my latest 2 layouts done using CSI: color stories inspiration Case Files.

The first one is Case File #194

                                Here is the case file which included a sketch to follow too.

My evidence used was:
                      * stripes
                   * stars
                  * cars
                                    * diamond shape

My Testimony was:
                                                                           * add a string to your journaling

 This layout was so much fun to do, and the colours In the case file gave me the perfect opportunity to feature my mini - yes I have Mini Love <3   haha !

and as always close ups !

I used a The Crafters Workshop stencil 'MINI HARLEQUIN' with white crackle texture paste in my background, with yellow acrylic paint splats and red mist splats.

I used lots of items from my stash, the alpha's, wooden stars and tag are painted in a blue acrylic paint.  My papers were from Crate Paper.

                               I used various buttons in different sizes and colours with string.

I added a stamped and inked tag at the top of the design and another with my journaling.
The flowers are Prima , that I have been hoarding forever till the right project came along!

The second layout is for Case File #195

My evidence used:  * vellum
                                 * animals
                                    * ink splats
                                * buttons
                              * String
                                    * tiny brads
                                * flowers
                             * hearts
                                           * polaroid frame

My Testimony:  * Write about a companion

So this layout is all about my Labradoodle dog, Evie. She follows me everywhere and if she had her choice would go absolutely everywhere with me!

I used Prima CIGAR BOX SECRETS papers for this layout. The flowers were also from this paper collection.

I used a Prima Color Bloom mist on the background and then pale green splats too. From my stash I used My Minds Eye brads and a banner strip of vellum.

My green painted buttons were from Prima. The 'Sweet' frame is from Heidi Swapp.

My typical layout includes lots of layers.

Kaisercraft March monthly challenge

Happy Easter Sunday!

Today I have a lovely relaxing day at home, we have had an Easter egg hunt with the kids and I'm looking forward to our roast dinner later. But in the meantime there is time for some scrapbooking too !
So its time to do the Kaisercraft monthly challenge and we have a gorgeous sketch this month.

Here is my layout...

And here is the sketch.....

I used Kaisercraft True Love 6 1/2" paper pad for this layout on a piece of white cardstock, with the True Love collectables pack too.
These two Kaisercraft products were my prize for winning the December monthly challenge with my Ma Cherie card.
I added a doily and some stencilling through a mask with a Prima Chalk ink pad Pastel Peach.
This layout is a very clean simple layout for me and all that white space...so hard not to fill it !

I love showing you all close ups, so here they are!

Thank you for visiting today,

Ginny   :)

Prima - Tales of Me & You

Happy Easter to you all !

Hope your all enjoying the gorgeous weather we have today for Good Friday, its been a corker of a day here in Wales. I had to work this morning but this afternoon I have been enjoying the sun. This did mean halving my scrapbooking time but it was lovely to get in the garden.

Today I am sharing with you a layout made with My Creative Scrapbook - http://mycreativescrapbook.com/join-the-club/ - monthly kit for March, using the gorgeous Prima 'Tales of Me & You' papers.

So without further ado here is the layout....

I love these papers, they are so pretty but have a lovely vintage romantic feeling to them. I chose two papers from the collection, The base paper is 'Belles Melodies d'armour'. The upper paper is the gorgeous 'Conte de Toi et Moi'. This paper I have torn large corners off, for a diagonal design.

On my background I have used a Prima Stencil with white crackle texture paste. Spritzed with some Tattered Angels mist 'Crème de Rouge' and stamped with an Indigo Blu 'script background' stamp with black Staz On. I also splattered some chalkboard grey matt chalk paint and used the Prima mask from the kit with  Finnabair 'Snowflake Paste'  to make the swirls. I added roughly torn small strips of Tim Holtz tissue tape in various places around the layout.

The chipboard from the kit I covered with white embossing powder. I then spritzed with the 'Crème de Rouge' mist and dabbed it as I dried it under the heat gun and added more as I dried to get the effect I wanted. I finished it off by stamping over it randomly with  Prima Finnabair clear stamp 'Crackle'      and black Staz On ink.
I cut it in half so I could use it in 2 places.

I used some gel medium to stick some seed beads around the page, and used some of the Prima Tales of Me & You brads from the kit.
This photo also shows the layers of my photo mats where they have been lifted up with the help of some cardboard. All of my edges have been distressed and then I rubbed over some parts of the edges and the seed beads with Shimmerz Dazzler 'Spun Sugar'.

                                                  The alphas were from Kaisercraft.
               The flowers were all from the kit, a lovely collection from Prima backed with cheesecloth, also from the kit.

The little rosebud brads are so cute and finished the layout off.

I really hope that this page has inspired you to go and create!

Have a lovely Easter,

Ginny  :)

                                         I love doing heavy distressing on my papers.

Mosiac Canvas

Hi all,

Today I have a canvas to share with you altered with Tim Holtz Distress Paper Mosaic kit. This was a Technique kit add-on from Swirlydoos kit club back in January.
This was so much fun to do. I did this project over a few days as you have to leave each stage to dry naturally on its own. But the effect is brilliant and the paper mosaic really does look like china /porcelain pieces in the finished project. The Mosaic kit includes the Grout, to cover a canvas, the glue, to stick the paper on,  and a Glaze to apply over the paper pieces to finish.

I used the Prima Menagerie and the 7 Dots Studio papers from the Main January Swirlydoos kit to go with this photo of my daughter, I thought these matched really well.

These are the beautiful Prima flowers 'Royal Menagerie- Elizabeth' #583309 from the add-on kit.

The Dusty Attic chipboard 'Vintage frame' - DA0254C was embossed with Stampendous Detail white embossing powder.

I added some Dusty Attic chipboard Vine Corner #2, also covered with the white embossing powder.

The Prima Shabby Chic Treasures Heart Balloons #892562 and the white wooden hearts from the  Salvage District Wooden icon set, were from the February Swirlydoos kit.

I added a Prima 'Garden Fable- Native' #580797 butterfly to my cluster.

The smaller flowers are Petaloo 'Penny Lane - Mini Daisy Petites - Antique Mauve #1839-070

The deep red small flowers are Petaloo 'Penny Lane - Forgetmenots' - Antique Rose #1837-059

I put the lace from the Technique kit around the edge of the canvas and then wrapped a pink ribbon on top of the lace.

Thank you for stopping by today,

Ginny  :)

Shabby Chic 'Love'

Hello,
          This weekend I had an OTP (Off the Page) weekend and caught up with a couple of projects that had been stacking up from my Technique Add-ons kit from Swirlydoos kit club monthly kits.
So here is the first one to be completed, this 'Love' is easy to put together and is free standing on its own base.

Before assembling it I painted the whole thing with a coat of gesso, only one coat as I wanted it to look a little bit shabby round the edges. The back I then gave a coat of the white paint, that was in the Technique Add-on, to give it a nicer finish as this wasn't getting covered by paper.

  I  covered the front and base with Prima Salvage District papers that were in the Main kit from the February Swirlydoos kit. I sanded the edges down to make things neater but also by doing this it takes the paper edge back a bit to reveal a shabby paint edge.

I wanted to use some stencils and texture paste on this project so at this point I used some white crackle texture paste with The Crafters Workshop (TCW) stencil mini Grandmas doily to the 'O' and then more of the crackle texture paste with TCW Mini Harlequin stencil to various places on the rest of the 'Love'.

When it was dry, I assembled the 'Love' and was ready to start embellishing.
The heart ring chippie and the flourish In the Technique Add-on I painted with a beige acrylic paint, dried and then edged with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. I also added some gold faux stitching to this with a Sakura gold metallic pen. The two entwined hearts I embossed with Stampendous Frantage Antique Gold embossing enamel.
With the Cherub chippie I used a technique shown to use by fellow Swirly girly Jan in a Swirlydoos tutorial, where she separated the chipboard with water to create a 3d effect with the cherubs wings. It looks fantastic ! He was then covered randomly with the gold embossing enamel.

The white prima flowers I spritzed with Prima Color bloom Antique Gold.
My bottles where from the Prima Salvage District Ephemera pack from the Main kit. These I filled with some of the gold embossing enamel and some gold Mica flake.
The pink Prima 'Say it in Crystals' flourish I cut up and put in various places for effect.
After I had finished gluing everything on I dabbed the edges of the flowers and leaves with some gesso and did some splattering of gesso over the whole thing.

Here are some close ups
