Here is my DT layout for the July 1st Sketch Challenge at Let's get Sketchy!
I loved this sketch! A multi photo sketch with lots of layers and a mood board to go with it!
Here's my layout
Here's the sketch we followed:
And the Mood Board
Now for some details and close ups
My inspiration for this layout came from the colours on the mood board, the red white and blue.
I had these photos of Holly dressed in these exact colours which was perfect. I then matched up with coordinating papers, all from Teresa Collins collections. I really enjoyed making this one, with colours and papers I wouldn't really normally use, great foe using up some stashed papers!
I wanted to make the design slightly different to the sketch so decided to do a lot of punching to my layers to change things up a bit. I used two different punches from Martha Stewart. Using such bold colours in the layers made the punching really stand out against the other papers.
I added an ephemera piece tucked into my layers.....
....... and only one flower! My English rose! This wood star had a perfect sentiment from me to my daughter, I tied it on to the bakers twine which is running along the layout. I found a lovely selection of buttons in my button jar that fitted the theme perfectly too!
I used the first photo slot from the sketch as a journaling spot, using this frame which came from the contents of a Papermaze kit.
The star of the layout was my DD. Two of the photos are stuck straight down on the background layers but the last photo is popped up on some cardboard (or foam pads) The mainly white patterned paper is also popped up on cardboard to add dimension and so buttons could be slightly pushed underneath.
