Let's Get Sketchy February 15th Challenge

Hello everyone!

Here I am carrying from my last but one blog post where I said I wanted to join in with a few more challenges. So the next challenge I've entered is the mid month sketch challenge at Let's Get Sketchy.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout!

When I saw the sketch I remembered a die cut circle I had cut with a Martha Stewart circle punch a long time ago and then never used. So out it came, looked at the colour of it and worked out my photo and layout from there.
I wanted to try and soften the circle a little as it was a little in your face in the plain bright pinky colour, which is why I came up with the idea of stencilling a pattern around the punched pattern with texture paste. I did the flourishes first and the went further with the snowfall stencil!
I like how it turned out!
After that it is a simple layout of layered photo mats and tags and a couple of small flower clusters, all quite minimal for me!

Here are some close up's:

***Round Robin Challenge at Swirlydoos***

Hello all,

Today I'm sharing my layout created for the Round Robin (RR) challenge at Swirlydoos Kit Club

I am Week 3 on Team 1 following Jan and Bec's amazing layouts.
I was super excited and inspired to be following Bec's super pretty layout and with the theme and twists of this months RR, this layout was a joy to make!

This months RR theme was all about love. We had to use some of our most loved scrapbooking supplies we love to hoard instead of using, and a technique we love to use to.
We then had to any or all of these colours: red, Pink, Black, or White.

So here's my layout:

I used all the colours!

One of my favourite techniques is heat embossing, a basic technique but so useful and effective especially for chipboard. I love all the colours we can get in embossing powders nowadays! I used two embossing powders on this layout, a white on the title and decorative elements and a pink on the Allium flower chipboard.

My paper collection I used for this layout was Dovecraft Sweet Paris collection. I adore this paper collection, and yes, I have been hoarding it for a while. I bought the whole collection when it first came out and have only done one layout with it up until now!

Now for the photo, my gorgeous DD so of course I love her a lot!

Here are some close ups.

These pictures show all the layering of the embellishments. The stencilling on the background with texture paste and a prima stencil. The layering of the wood frames with the Allium chipboard flower on top and then the title chippie with the heart stick pins make the layout really 'deep'.

The photo is matted twice on Centura Pearl cardstock with the edges distressed. I then decorated the photo with some gorgeous pieces of Add to dictionary chipboard which was embossed with white embossing powder. I altered the colour of my photo to this vintage colouring using PicMonkey.

The buttons all had some cord tied through them and were layered up on some paper flowers of various designs.

I love the little Eiffle tower metal charm from the Sweet Paris collection! The Prima butterfly I slotted in between the mat layers of the photo. This mimicked both Bec and Jan who had put a butterfly in the same place.

The Allium Wycinanka covered with Stampendous Shabby Pink embossing enamel.

A close up of the wood frames, the Wycinanka pieces and the Sweet Paris tag behind them with some Memory Hardware Pearls.

More Than Words February Challenge

Hello all,

I have been wanting to get back to doing a few online challenges again for a while and this weekend I had a little free time so I got down to business and here is the first challenge I decided to do!

This layout is for the 'More Than Words' February Challenge.

My 'together' is my photo of me and my hubby. We were at a works Christmas party and took this tipsy selfie during the evening. I like this fun photo instead of the usual posed for photos!
I used 3 ampersands!

I teamed my challenge up with a Valentines theme and used Kaisercraft True Love paper collection. The layout is based on a large doily lightly inked round the edge.
I made a circle of 3 of the Kaisercraft papers cut into segments to make thirds for the circle in the middle of the doily.

I fussy cut some floral elements out of the papers to use in my flower cluster.
My flowers are nestled in some pink gauze material.

The Ampersands were from a 'Thickers' set and used to space between my fussy cut words.

I used a range of different flowers and beaded buds and some big bling with the pink dazzlers!

I used some Wycinaka chipboard, this BG Heart piece I cut up into 3 pieces to use around my design.

Products used on this layout

* Kaisercraft: True Love: 6.5" Paper Pad
* Kaisercraft: Cardstock: Aloe 12x12 weave
* Wycinanka: Chipboard  BG Hearts
* Creative Expressions: Dazzlers pink
* Scrapberrys: Stem lily white
* Prima Flowers: Nikko Danno #582081
* Live & Love Crafts: pink beaded Buds
* Heidi Swapp: Sugar Chic: Adore sticker
* Prima Chalk Pad: Dry Sand
* Thickers
