Tales of Me & You Tag Box

Hello,
            So here is the other project I was going to share with you. This is a tag box, made up from a Clare Charvill  'My Creative Spirit' designs kit. These are big enough to get your large tags in. Alternatively they could be used for other uses and would make lovely gift boxes too!

I made the tag box up following the Clare Charvill instruction video and then chose
to cover my tag box with Prima Tales of Me & You paper collection.
The inside I used black cardstock.

I decorated it with a matted journal card from one of the Tales of Me & You papers.

I then finished off with a flower and a little girl chipboard piece, both from the 'Tales of Me and You' range, a ribbon and some pearl trim.

The box had a hidden magnet fastening.
I added a brad to the front above where the magnets are to add a decorative feature. I cut off the folding prongs on the back of the brad and just glued it on.

Now I just need to create some tags to go in it !

Peggy's Bicycle Sketch

Hi all,

I've got a couple of things to share with you, so here's the first one tonight.
This is my layout for Swirlydoos kit club monthly Sketch Challenge for March using the 'Peggy's Bicycle' kit full of Prima 'Tales of Me & You' paper collection.

This is the lovely sketch we followed.
I turned the sketch by 90 degrees to fit in with my paper choice design.

My Background paper is Tales of Me & You;  'Notre Jardin Secret'
My photos have been layered up on Tales of Me & You paper  'Belles Melodies d'amour' and the corners punched with an inverted corner punch.
My Blue Fern Studio chipboard 'My Bike' I altered with two different colours from Prima's Water Soluble Oil Pastels set. I patched the chipboard in my red and bright pink pastels and then blended with a water pen.
I used the same technique for my swirl but through a mask.
My embellished corners with the photos were then made up with adding pieces from the;
Tales of Me & You Chipboard pieces,
Tales of Me & You Ephemera,
Tales of Me & You Flowers; #586362
Tales of Me & You Flowers;  #586287
Prima: Flowers; Vintage Emporium;  #586560
Measuring tape ribbon
Clear Crystals
Kaisercraft Mini Alpha's;  Lattte

Here are some close up's

Thank you for stopping by my blog today,

I will be back with an OTP project with Prima Tales of Me & You tomorrow.

CSI - case file no. #197

Afternoon everyone,

Just popping in a quick post between finishing work and the school bus arriving !

This is my layout for CSI - color stories inspiration Case File no. 197.
I loved this board, it was just so 'spring' to me and the colours were lovely. The tulips in the 'scene' picture was all the inspiration I  needed to create this layout!

Here is the case file for #197.

For these case files you have to use all the colours specified in your layout.
Then you have to pick at least 3 items from the Evidence list and at least 1 prompt from the Testimony list, to complete your layout.

So you can see I took the Tulips from the 'Scene'  picture for the topic of my layout. The tulips in my garden have been amazing this spring and the lovely bright pink is so cheerful ! Spring has really started in my garden, I love April when all the plants and perennials start shooting up !

All the colours were used. My background paper had the white and grey on it. I used Chalkboard journal cards as my photo mats for the Chalkboard black. The pink and yellow colours were easy !
The papers had the perfect colours on them. This is an old line now but I love finding the perfect paper, however old it is to compliment the subject and to use up some of that stash !

Background paper:   Websters Pages: Alison Kreft: Composition & Color: 'That Way'
Other Papers:  My Mind's Eye: The Sweetest Thing: Honey: "Love" Found
My Mind's Eye: The Sweetest Thing: Honey: "One of a Kind" Noteable
Prima Marketing: The Optimist collection: "Perfect"

My Evidence ;

* Metal  -  staples, charms & eyelets
* flowers
* paint   -   splats and through the mask
* numbers

My Testimony ;

* Inspirational Words: Spring

You can see from the above case file we also had a lovely sketch to follow this week too !

Here are some close up's....

Other Products used ;

My Minds Eye: My Story: decorative tape #MSY130
Prima Marketing: Flowers #564469
Authentique: "Petite Type" : Classique : Beauty
Prima stencil
Acrylic paint
Distress Ink Black Soot
Buds from Live & Love Crafts
Eyelets, rose, button, staples & charms from my stash

Have a lovely rest of the day !

Hi all,

I had an amazing time last week at a 2 day Clare Charvill Workshop at In house Interiors and Crafts in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, Wales featuring Graphic 45 papers, Communique.
We made a Mini Album in a Box, a product from Clare Charvill's 'My Creative Spirit' papercraft designs range. It was a wonderful 2 days with a group of lovely ladies and Clare's excellent guidance and tuition.
Here are some photos of the box and mini album after I had finished putting the last pages together when I got home!

I am raring to go with the next project now!

Mixed Media Timeless Layout

Hi All,

Today I've got a mixed media layout to share with you. I do love getting messy and 'playing' with 'messy stuff' to add another feature to my layouts !
This layout is created with Blue fern Studios 'Timeless' paper collection and is about 'Me' !
My photo is very glossy and no matter where or how I photographed this layout I couldn't get rid of the shine on my photo....eerhh !

The papers and embellishments are from Swirlydoos February kit and I added a Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.  The chipboard piece under my photo is actually the waste of a previous chippie I had used on another layout - I never throw anything away !

My beautiful Prima flower is product number #586850
The Burlap flower underneath it is Petaloo Daisy Layers Burlap 'Natural'.
The wood elements are Prima Salvage District Wood Embellishments #583774

I used Stampendous Frantage Gold embossing enamel on the Prima Rub-ons and placed the Prima Metal butterfly over the top.
The lovely rusty look heart is from Prima Finnabair Mechanicals metal embellishments 'Tin Hearts'  #963361.

I used Dusty Attic Wire Dress Form #5 with a mixture of Stampendous Frantage Antique Gold  & Antique Silver embossing enamel.
I added the beads with blobs of glue.

On my mixed media background I used my favourite stencil, The Crafters Workshop 'Mini Harlequin' with crackle texture paste. I also used TCW stencil 'Mini Tile Texture' with Shimmerz Dazzler 'Spun Sugar'. I stamped with Black Staz On Ink with a Indigo Blu Script stamp and misted/splatted with a Purple Cosmic Shimmer mist. I also used my favourite stamp of the moment, Finnabair Wood Mounted Butterfly stamp.
These products are all allowed to dry in between each application before the next one is added over the top. I use a heat gun to speed the process up. The only product that really needs 'air time' to dry is the Shimmerz Dazzler.... time for a cup of tea !

The metal butterflies are Prima Finnabair Mechanicals 'Grungy Butterflies' #963408
There are different size butterflies in this pack.
On top of the butterfly is another heart from the 'Tin Hearts' pack.

The Clock and Vase are from Prima Salvage District Ephemera pack, which I have poked into my embellishment cluster.

I finished the layout with some Gesso splats and some more mists splats over the whole layout.
( cover up your photo first with a spare piece of scrap card before doing this so you don't ruin your photo )

March CSI Layouts

Hello all !

Today I'm sharing my latest 2 layouts done using CSI: color stories inspiration Case Files.

The first one is Case File #194

                                Here is the case file which included a sketch to follow too.

My evidence used was:
                      * stripes
                   * stars
                  * cars
                                    * diamond shape

My Testimony was:
                                                                           * add a string to your journaling

 This layout was so much fun to do, and the colours In the case file gave me the perfect opportunity to feature my mini - yes I have Mini Love <3   haha !

and as always close ups !

I used a The Crafters Workshop stencil 'MINI HARLEQUIN' with white crackle texture paste in my background, with yellow acrylic paint splats and red mist splats.

I used lots of items from my stash, the alpha's, wooden stars and tag are painted in a blue acrylic paint.  My papers were from Crate Paper.

                               I used various buttons in different sizes and colours with string.

I added a stamped and inked tag at the top of the design and another with my journaling.
The flowers are Prima , that I have been hoarding forever till the right project came along!

The second layout is for Case File #195

My evidence used:  * vellum
                                 * animals
                                    * ink splats
                                * buttons
                              * String
                                    * tiny brads
                                * flowers
                             * hearts
                                           * polaroid frame

My Testimony:  * Write about a companion

So this layout is all about my Labradoodle dog, Evie. She follows me everywhere and if she had her choice would go absolutely everywhere with me!

I used Prima CIGAR BOX SECRETS papers for this layout. The flowers were also from this paper collection.

I used a Prima Color Bloom mist on the background and then pale green splats too. From my stash I used My Minds Eye brads and a banner strip of vellum.

My green painted buttons were from Prima. The 'Sweet' frame is from Heidi Swapp.

My typical layout includes lots of layers.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my layouts today, I would love to know what you think !

Ginny   :)
