***CSI - Case File 235***

Its time for another case file here at CSI - Color Stories Inspiration!

It the start of the month so we have a major case file with a sketch for your interpretation as well.

Here is how I solved the case file....

Here is the case file with

the sketch....

I used all the colours from the scheme.

My Evidence used was:

* Solid white background
* polka dots - mist dots
* flowers
* wet medium - texture paste

My testimony used was:

* Topic: girlfriends

I have used Maja Design papers on this layout with the white cardstock background.
To get a fresh modern feel to the layout I have drawn black free hand lines around the edges of some of the paper layers.

I used Distress Grit paste as my wet medium with a floral swirl stencil.

This very pretty ribbon was the perfect colouring for this colour scheme. Just tied in a bow and glued to the layout.

I wanted to use some stamped verses on this layout. I  stamped with Black Soot distress Ink.

I used staples to keep my torn paper layers together and metal brads to keep my photo layers together.

The topic was 'girlfrreinds' so my layout  has me with all my besties on it!

Products used on this layout....

Bazzill: Cardstock white
Maja Design: Vintage Spring Basics: 10th of April
Maja Design: Vintage Summer Basics: 1943
Stencil
Tim Holtz: Distress Grit Paste

***CSI - Color Stories Inspiration Case File 234***

It's time for another Case File here at CSI, Color Stories Inspiration!

This one gave me a complete headache! All the colours I dislike the most when put together and I don't do orange!

Anyway after a few attempts at a 'start' for a layout, I gave up with my patterned papers and started instead with a sheet of white cardstock, inks and stamps and this then happened.....

This is the case file.....

All 5 colours were used from the Scheme.

My evidence used:

* Trees, flowers
* Dashed Lines
* Triangles
* Stamps

My Testimony Used:

* Presentation: Make your Journaling meander around your page.

On my 12x2 sheet of white cardstock I used a selection of stamps with distress inks and markers to create my background design.

I started with the flourish stamp from Indigo Blu to create the basic shape of the design. I used both Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon Distress markers together on the stamp, simply colouring over the stamp with both pens in different places until the whole stamp is covered and then stamp it. This obviously has to be done quite quickly so the ink doesn't dry before you get to stamp with it.

I then layered up other stamps over the top of the flourishes. The stitched circles was done with the Squeezed Lemonade. The leaves and arrows with Black Soot and the triangle background stamp with Scattered Straw.

The 'x' line stamp s from the 'Rosarian' stamp set and stamped in Broken China and the Wooden 'lines' stamp was stamped in Tumbled Glass.

I used the distress crayons with water to splash over the background. Just scribble the crayons on your brown craft sheet, spritz over the top with water and then mix together with a paint brush and then flick over the layout. I used two colours on my background, Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge.

My journaling winds around my layout in a clockwise direction following the stitched circle stamps. The sentences are joined by dotted lines. It tells about the photo of my two children which was taken not long after they had  recovered from Chicken Pox.

The Prima flowers I thought just finished the layout of. I finished the flowers with centres of Buttercup Liquid Pearls and added some more pearl drops around the design.

I then drew free hand some dotted swirly flourishes with a Weathered Wood Distress Marker.

Products used on this layout

Bazzil Cardstock: White
Authentique: Petite Type: Durable
Dovecraft: Glitter Alphabet: Dusky Blue

STAMPS

Layouts for my Mum and Dad

Good Evening All,

I have two layouts to show you today. I've done them together because they are of my Mum and Dad, and although different paper lines, the photos were both from Christmas time and are to my mind a set.
Here's the first one, using Blue Fern Studio's Vintage Christmas.

I do like using a little mixed media on my layouts and these two layouts have both had a little splattering ! Underneath the paper layering, of all Vintage Christmas papers, I have stamped snowflakes and holly. I also did a little texture paste masking and then a good old splatting of gold metallic paint and gesso. My Christmas themed chippie embellishments were painted in the gold metallic paint as well. Flowers and Holly springs were from my stash.

Products used;
Blue Fern Studio; Vintage Christmas; Auld Lang Syne
Blue Fern Studio; Vintage Christmas; Magical
Scrapberrys; Gardenia flowers
Dreamweavers Crackle embossing Paste; white
Prima; Mask; Doily
Viva; Precious Metal Colour; Gold
Ranger; archival ink; Coffee
Staz-on Ink; Black
Distress Ink; Walnut Stain
Prima Chalk Ink pad; Shabby Tote
Gesso
Holly; Wood Icons, frame diecut and alphas from my stash
Stamps from my stash

And some close ups...

And now for layout number two..

 This layout is done on background paper Heartfelt Creations 'Countryside Evenings'. The dotty paper used for layering is a Prima paper.  I do find layouts without flowers very difficult, but I was determined to do a masculine layout and keep to my brief of not needing a flower ! So my mixed media on this layout started with a lot of masking. Three layers of three different masks using distress inks and texture paste. Then some stamping with coffee archival ink. Some of my Dusty Attic chippie cogs were painted in a grey chalk paint and this was also used on the paper edges, wood banners and my alpha's. The other cogs were painted in gold metallic paint. I then used both paints again for a good old splatting !! My verse is a Kaisercraft  rub on.

This is the sketch we are following this week

So not my usual shabby chic style, but fun and I liked it ! Whilst wondering what to do with this sketch I was looking through old magazines and pictures and saw a picture of a journal page full of stamping and a little highlighted colour. This inspired me to get my stamps out with my mists and get stamping !
