***Let's Get Sketchy Challenge June 15th***

It's sketch challenge time again!

Hope you have your papers and embellishments ready for a little creative time!

I am here with the mid month challenge for Let's Get Sketchy.

Can you believe we are half way through June already! I don't know where the year is going to!

I think the kids have about 6 weeks left of school before we start our summer holidays here in the UK and then we are on the downhill slope to Christmas - NO I hear you cry, we cant start talking about that yet!

So firstly let me start with my layout

A fun layout with lovely bright papers from Simple Stories, with lots of layers and elevation.

Here is the June 15th Sketch

The first thing you notice is that I have swopped the hexagons for squares as these were the shapes in the designs on my chosen papers.

 Apart from that I have used every layer and shape on the sketch and then added more with the embellishment layers.

Unusually for me there are no actual flowers on this layout just the flower cluster sticker in the centre. I have popped some of the elements up on foam pads to add interest and depth.

Everything on the layout is from the So Fancy collection from Simple Stories. I have used the coordinating background papers, the patterned papers and the journal card papers, finished off by using the sticker sheet for the extra embellishments.

The final feature was the faux stitching around some of the squares.

DT layout Case File 204

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing my design team layout for CSI - color, stories, inspiration Case File 204.

Here is the case file

I used all 5 colours from the scheme.

My evidence used was;

* hearts

* wings/feathers

* flowers

* polka dots/stripes

My Testimony  used was:

* Document something you love a lot

* Inspirational word: heart

I loved the colour palette in this case file, gorgeous girlie colours, perfect for my little girl!

This is a birthday photo of her from a couple of years ago but the layout is about what she means to me and how she always makes me feel better, she is my angel!

I didn't do any distressing on this layout - unusual for me! I wanted to keep it clean & fresh.

I used a Simple Stories paper collection, So Fancy.

I loved all the feathers in this paper collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting and used the sticker sheet.

Some elements were lifted up with cardboard or foam pads.

These papers are lovely and have there own layering already incorporated to the design.

The journaling is most important. Get it on your page! CSI is all about the journaling, we love to know the stories behind the photos! But also more importantly for you to remember those stories  too!

I used the beautiful Scrapberry's Cherry blossoms, perfect for this layout!

Don't forget to layer up your sticker and fussy cutting to make an attractive cluster to catch the eye!

Swirlydoos Round Robin Challenge

Hi All,

Today I'm sharing my layout for Swirlydoos Round Robin Challenge - Team 3 Week 4 following Linda, Andie and Jan’s gorgeous layouts, thanks ladies! http://www.swirlydoos.com/forums/topic/october-round-robin-vintage-with-a-fall-twist-sign-ups/

The twist were  * to use Bordeaux as the main colour and fall/autumn colours 
                         * a vintage/ heritage page
                         * To use a Swirlydoos tutorial
                         * to use some texture
                         * to add some mixed media

 For my vintage/heritage page I have photos of my Mum when she was a little girl.
 I used Rae’s filigree chipboard tutorial http://www.swirlydoos.com/forums/topic/distressed-faux-filigree-chipboard-technique/ (I love this technique), burlap flowers and I copied Jan’s burlap banner for the texture. I used a mixture of Prima Colorbloom sprays ( Antique Gold, Sunshine & Vintage Coal) and Perfect Pearls Mist ‘Forever Red’ on the burlap banner as the mixed media.
 My paper was out of my stash and quite old, the Bordeaux flower paper is a Simple Stories paper and the spotty paper is My Minds Eye ’29th Street Market’.
Swirly stash was the yellow Petaloo flowers, the Martha Stewart metal filigree shapes and burlap sheet. The other flowers and leaves were from my stash.
