Layouts for my Mum and Dad

Good Evening All,

I have two layouts to show you today. I've done them together because they are of my Mum and Dad, and although different paper lines, the photos were both from Christmas time and are to my mind a set.
Here's the first one, using Blue Fern Studio's Vintage Christmas.

I do like using a little mixed media on my layouts and these two layouts have both had a little splattering ! Underneath the paper layering, of all Vintage Christmas papers, I have stamped snowflakes and holly. I also did a little texture paste masking and then a good old splatting of gold metallic paint and gesso. My Christmas themed chippie embellishments were painted in the gold metallic paint as well. Flowers and Holly springs were from my stash.

And now for layout number two..

 This layout is done on background paper Heartfelt Creations 'Countryside Evenings'. The dotty paper used for layering is a Prima paper.  I do find layouts without flowers very difficult, but I was determined to do a masculine layout and keep to my brief of not needing a flower ! So my mixed media on this layout started with a lot of masking. Three layers of three different masks using distress inks and texture paste. Then some stamping with coffee archival ink. Some of my Dusty Attic chippie cogs were painted in a grey chalk paint and this was also used on the paper edges, wood banners and my alpha's. The other cogs were painted in gold metallic paint. I then used both paints again for a good old splatting !! My verse is a Kaisercraft  rub on.

Kaisercraft Sketch Challenge January

Hello,

I hope you are having a good Monday, following on from a good weekend.
Today I have done my layout for the Kaisercraft monthly Sketch challenge. The Kaisercraft blog link is here.

This is my layout, made with Kaisercraft Fairy dust collection.

We had to use the sketch below as inspiration and use at least 80% Kaisercraft products on our project. I turned the sketch upside down.

                 I added some silver glitter glue to the star and the fairy to make her sparkle !

                              I created layers using foam tape to lift layers up off the page.

               I love distressing my papers and layers. I've then inked the edges with distress ink.

The photo is placed on the front of a card that opens up to reveal the verse underneath. I Loved this verse and wanted to include it on  my layout but it didn't fit in with the sketch, so this was my way around that. I will also write my journaling about the photo on the left hand side.

Still Christmas at my house !

Morning !

Another day another layout :)

This is another layout made with the December Swirlydoos kit with Kaisercraft Silver Bells kit.

I used the main kit and the flower, embellishment and mediums add on's.

I love this photo of my dog. We had started opening presents and she was sat there looking at my Dad, who was being 'Santa', as if to say 'come on where's mine?'

I love adding close up photos of projects to see all the little details.

All that Flutters....

Hello!

I hope your Monday has been a good day. It's been a strange day today with hubby back to work and the kids back to school after the Christmas holidays. Me, I go back to work tomorrow. Its been far to quiet at home but on the good side, I did have a little crafting time in between the housework!!

I am sharing another layout today made with the Swirlydoos kit 'All that Glitters'. This kit features Kaisercraft Silver Bells collection.

I created this layout for the All That Flutters challenge on the Swirlydoos forum. The project we create has to have something in it that flies/ has wings. My layout has a fairy !

I fussy cut all the baubles, inked the edges with Prima Chalk inks 'Sweet Pea', Turquoise, Teal Damask and created the layout around them. I also used the 12x12 Kaisercraft stencil from the mediums add on kit for the bauble masking with the Finnabair Snowflake paste. I also used the snowflake paste to create my 'snow' fairy ( Creative Expressions) and the snow on the baubles.  My Blue Fern Studio chippies were painted with the FolkArt green acrylic paint and then thay to had the 'snow' treatment ! Some Scrappy Cat silver glitter glue finished the layout off.

All that Glitters......

Happy New Year Everyone !......

Wow wow.... to say I love the December Swirlydoos All that Glitters kit is an understatement, I think it is my favourite kit yet.......

The kit comprises of Kaisercraft 'Silver Bells' paper collection, such pretty colours of pink and bluey turquoise and silver, so pretty !
I had the mediums 'add on' kit too,  which included such yummy goodies to add extra glitz and bling and GLITTER......

This is my layout for the December sketch challenge....

I used the Kaisercraft 12x12 stencil from the mediums kit to back the design with a couple of snowflakes using the Finnabair Snowflake paste ( my new favourite product !!)  Some of the BoBunny laser cut snowflakes I covered in Gesso and then painted them in the FolkArt Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint. The other one I painted the Extreme Glitter straight on to the snowflake. This creates a wonderful fine glittered bling ! There are some gorgeous flowers and embellishments in this kit, and the flower and embellishment add on kits, that go beautifully with the papers. I added some Twinklets Diamond Dust ( not in the kit) to my mirror dots to create a more frosted look and some extra glitz with some gold Glamour dust (also not in the kit) on my white leaves, as I decided if you can't go full out with glitter at Christmas when can you ????
