Swirlydoos June kit layouts

Hello all,

I loved this June kit from Swirlydoos, with Kaisercraft Antique Bazaar and BoBunny Heritage collections in it. www.swirlydoos.com

Here are two layouts I did from the kit, the first using the Kaisercraft papers. It had all my favourites on it - flowers, flourishes, lace, a little bling and lots of layers.

And the second one is using the Bobunny papers. We had this piece of bling made up of lots of squares in the kit  which I decided I wanted to cut it all up and make a mosaic effect with it... so I did!
A bit time consuming but I liked the end result.

Thank you for stopping by.   :)

Creating 'Boy' Pages....

Hi all,

You may have noticed that most of my layouts are usually very flowery and quite heavily loaded with pretty embellishments, so when it come to doing LO's of the male side of my family I do find it quite challenging to do a LO without a flower on it!!!
However, I do like setting myself challenges and stretching myself out of my comfort zone and find it is an opportunity to use other methods that I love to use like paper layering and using mixed media forms.
Here are a couple of LO's I have created this week of DS using these methods and i really enjoyed it, doing something different.

This first one is using Simple Stories 'Awesome Me' papers and stickers and alpha's.
With some added trims, a bit of punch work on the layering and some plastic mesh - love that stuff!

This LO is done on a Prima Lifestyle paper I've had in my stash for a while. This one I masked with a Prima chalk pad and then I did some stamping . Combining some a little paper layering, Washi Tape, Candi Core, bakers twine, some wood icons and alpha' and Voila!!!!

Hope you like them!
Enjoy your day!

I Love Shabby LO's......

Afternoon All,

This post is back to flower power Shabby style, I love this way of doing my pages.
I am using my Swirlydoo's  monthly kit club kit, the April one, which had papers from 'My Besties'.
I used two papers from the kit that have made it very easy to get the shabby romantic feel that I try to achieve with my LO's.
The first one was based on layers. I got my sewing machine out and sewed away merrily, round the edges of some  of the layers, not neatly which is the best bit about it!! I wanted to do a LO based on the pink white and browns of the kit. I think these colours are perfect together and give a very romantic pretty feel. I did a lot of distressing and added some masking with texture paste and a second layer of masking with the texture paste coloured with some pink mica powder. I layered up using the papers, lace and craft doilies and then finished of with the metal trellis, flowers (kaisercraft & Petaloo), pearls and Chippy butterflies from BoBunny.

The second paper again was distressed and layered up and had the masking with texture paste treatment. I used strips of paper behind the photo layer, Kaisercraft and Petaloo flowers, Liquid pearls for the pearl circle and Prima alpha's and Prima Doily stickers. I tried to make this look like we were sat in a fairy tale! I finished off with lots of gesso! Hope you like them!

A little bit of fun!!!

Hello all!,
I felt this photo needed something a little different to my usual flowers and shabbiness, something a little bit more FUN and using some different items on my layouts.
Stickers are not my first port of call when it comes to embellishments but I had these papers and sticker embellishments from Glitz Design, Distressed Couture collection and thought that they would work well. I really enjoyed doing something different and liked how it turned out. I also used some Prima Doily stickers, did some paper tearing and voila!

And a couple of close ups of the sticker embellishments.

Hope you liked it! Thanks for stopping by :)

It's been a while........

Hello,

It's  been a while but here we are! Time has flown and with a move of house and job changes it's really nice to finally settle down and get back to some good old scrappy goodness!

I love being a subscriber to Swirlydoo's Monthly Scrapbook Kit Club, there's nothing more exciting then receiving those pizza shaped boxes in the post!!! http://www.swirlydoos.com/

The March kit was full of  paper's by Fabscraps 'Elegant Chic' collection and Blue Fern Studio's Love Story collection.

Here is what I did with them.

I loved the 'pink' theme to most of these papers, soft and pretty!

Hope you enjoyed looking at my creations. Please leave a comment  :)

October Sketch challenge..

Hello all,

Today I'm here with my entry for the Scrap365 October sketch challenge. I haven't entered this challenge for a couple of months but this sketch really appealed to me and I actually had some free time to do it! http://scrap365.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/october-sketch-challenge.html

So here is my entry..

I used some of my favourite things on this layout, lace, burlap and bling!! Also Prima alpha's and Say it in Crystals crochet trim, texture paste and stencils. Doilies, cardstock and flowers from my stash. The bottle cap was from last months Swirlydoo's kit and I also used some Dusty Attic clock faces.
The background paper was BoBunny TimePiece Villa.

My flowers were the wrong colour so I changed them with Prima Color Blooms Tea Stain and Antique Gold. I used Distress Ink Vintage Photo on my cardstock edges.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by  :)
